In that case we will never find out what happened. :(
If you see this kind of problem on a clean fs (as in for example in
PR 37955, which may be USB-related) absolutely report it, but be sure
to ascertain that the fs *was* clean. This panic is readily triggered
by mounting an unfscked volume, but that doesn't rule out other 
potential causes.
