 Yeah, this is still broken on 4.99.51 with pkgsrc-2007Q4.  It's also 
 broken in a different way if the package option faad is set.
 
 Tracking the subversion repository seems like a bad idea; pkgsrc's local 
 patches may break, and compilation on a larger scale may also break due 
 to unforeseen changes in the ffmpeg repository.  I think we're best off 
 fixing this version.  Even though ffmpeg claims there are no official 
 releases, the distribution pkgsrc downloads is a regular, version 
 numbered tarball from ffmpeg's sourceforge page.  It is, however, 
 frustrating that the release pkgsrc is using is from mid-2004; maybe 
 there is another static distribution we could be using?
