 That was sheer genius.   It worked just fine, thanks.   (And I confirmed
 that I was still seeing the same problem - except in sun-jre6 now - without
 this dummy library.)
 
 This PR can now stay closed after all...
 
 I will be submitting a PR with an update to pkgtools/libkver that will also
 makes a dummy library like that, which can then be put into /emul/linux
 when needed, sometime quite soon.
 
 The version of pkg_comp I used has so diverged from what's in pkgsrc that
 I'm not confident I can submit updates to that to use it properly, but I
 will try that as well (my use method no longer needs libkver's
 standalone-install Makefile target (which has been broken for ages anyway,
 see PR pkg/38651 - May 2008 - but ignore the "fix" I added there, I used
 that for a while, but it turns out it is better to just abandon the
 standalone-install nonsense).
