chromium: pkgsrc import request
Hi,
I made a pkg for chromium to NetBSD, which has been available in
pkgsrc-wip for months. I followed the releases, the current version of
wip/chromium is 131.0.6778.204. Chromium-132 switched to llvm-19,
which is only available in pkgsrc-wip yet, this version is available
in pkgsrc-wip as chromium-next. When llvm-19 lands in pkgsrc I will
merge them.
I use chromium on NetBSD-10.1 x86_64 and I think the package is stable
enough. The pkg is based on the common OpenBSD and FreeBSD patchset,
extending the NetBSD relevant changes, which work from NetBSD-10.
Chromium officially dropped support for x86 from linux, and I had many
problems when I tried to build on i386, furthermore the patchset
contains changes for aarch64, but I don't have hardware to try this.
So wip/chromium’s supported platforms are at best NetBSD, FreeBSD,
Darwin and Linux on x86_64 and aarch64.
I would like to start the requesting process to import chromium to the
pkgsrc. Is it acceptable chromium support NetBSD only from 10 of
release?
Regards,
kikadf
