For example I'm going to endeavour to ditch Gtk from my next GNU Emacs build. I have test builds of emacs 29.x configured using the "lucid" toolkit and I'm much happier with it.
Interesting.
It doesn't help that neither GTK-2.x nor GTK-3.x apps can be static-linked either. I detest dynamic linking for most of the uses it gets and vastly prefer to static-link everything.
