Hey guys. Please CC your replies to the mailing list (pkgsrc-wip-review%lists.sourceforge.net@localhost). Dear upstream: My apologies, I did not grasp the concept of your release scheme. Here I agree with Greg, it would be nice if you made clear this is ALPHA software, targeted only at component developers, not ready for general testing. We wouldn't have upgraded that early in the main pkgsrc tree, of course. On the same note, ironically, the build of 1.4-dr4 in pkgsrc-WIP is far more usable than was 1.3. Greg: Do we have an official guideline on what goes into pkgsrc-wip? Thanks for the detailed explanation, but I fear it'll get lost in the archives. Unlike GIMP, Audacious' release process seems to proceed at a very fast pace, so I figure a seperate -devel package wouldn't be too prolific. I'm not going to downgrade only to upgrade it again in a few days. If anyone wants to do so, please go ahead and take the maintainership. Same for the splitting up of the plug-ins/modules into seperate packages. Regards, j.
