I can't speak to the rest of those, but, unless you're wedded to using
out-of-the-box kernels, com at acpi is something you should be able to
get on older systems. The 9.1 I used at work on had "com* at acpi?"
support, and, when I tried it, I found it worked. Even 5.2 has it - in
dev/acpi/files.acpi - and, when I try it (comment out the "at isa"
attachments and uncomment the "at acpi" attachment), it works there too
on at least one machine:
# dmesg | egrep ^com
com0 at acpi0 (UAR1, PNP0501-0): io 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4
com0: ns16550a, working fifo
com0: console
com1 at acpi0 (UAR2, PNP0501-1): io 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3
com1: ns16550a, working fifo
com2 at acpi0 (UAR3, PNP0501-2): io 0x3e8-0x3ef irq 6
com2: ns16550a, working fifo
com3 at acpi0 (UAR4, PNP0501-3): io 0x2e8-0x2ef irq 6
com3: ns16550a, working fifo
com4 at acpi0 (UAR5, PNP0501-4): io 0x4f8-0x4ff irq 7
com4: ns16550a, working fifo
com5 at acpi0 (UAR6, PNP0501-5): io 0x4e8-0x4ef irq 7
com5: ns16550a, working fifo
