Why do you not set vm.bufcache in /etc/sysctl.conf?
Does that actually have the desired effect on i386 in netbsd-4?(without restricting BUFCACHE on i386 systems with more than 2GB of RAM the kernel will run out of kernel memory, especially if you set other tuning values up to reasonable amount for large servers, such as maxvnodes, NMBCLUSTERS, etc. and then you get strange hangs and crashes of course -- BUFCACHE is the easiest thing to restrict and has the least adverse affect on a server when it is restricted somewhat)
