Umm, r128fb doesn't know how to switch video modes yet. It does have
acceleration though.
If I leave genfb in, then the console boots up in 640x480 mode, but
boots successfully.
If present, r128fb should override genfb, so I guess in your case
r128fb simply didn't attach at all.
What's the right procedure here for leaving r128fb in and booting
successfully ?
Look at sys/dev/pci/r128fb.c -> r128fb_match(), see if your card's PCI
IDs are listed. I added only those I either tested myself or which
other people confirmed working.
