  The output from the install kernel is below.  HOWEVER - I had to halt 
and boot again for the drives on the CMD board to show up.  The first 
time, that controller didn't show up, just like when booting the new 
system disk.

  But, no number of retries make it work when booting the new system 
disk.  Some sort of marginal timing issue perhaps?
