Downloaded it, this booted as it did for you, on both the vax780 and the vax8600 emulators. This made me curious and I tried to boot a plain NetBSD-made live image which ... didn't boot (when built from `current`.) *sigh* So when I get the next successfully booting `git bisect` step, I'll additionally try to build the live image and see if that works. Unfortunately, I didn't keep all the release artifacts from previous successful builds... (They were not at all automated builds, but I had to pet them a bit. :-( ) Would be interesting to see if the creator of above image had their patches published somewhere? > % pigz -d NetBSD-vax-10.0_RC3-cmake-stall_20240221.img.gz > % cat > netbsd-boot780 > set cpu 128M > set rq0 ra92 > att rq0 NetBSD-vax-10.0_RC3-cmake-stall_20240221.img > #set rq1 cdrom > #att rq1 NetBSD-10.0_RC3-vax.iso > set xu enable > att xu tap:tap0 > boot rq0 > % simh-vax780 netbsd-boot780 > > VAX 11/780 simulator Open SIMH V4.1-0 Current simh git commit id: b23cde9c Build: Unsupported=include+lib > /home/tsutsui/simh/netbsd-boot780a-7> att xu tap:tap0 > %SIM-INFO: Eth: opened OS device tap0 > /home/tsutsui/simh/netbsd-boot780a-8> boot rq0 > %SIM-INFO: Loading boot code from internal vmb.exe > > >> NetBSD/vax boot [1.12 (Tue Jan 16 08:28:51 UTC 2024)] << > >> Press any key to abort autoboot 0 > nfs_open: must mount first. > open netbsd.vax: Device not configured > > boot netbsd > 3546904+185792 [249360+235782]=0x406000 > [ 1.0000000] Copyright (c) 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, > [ 1.0000000] 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, > [ 1.0000000] 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, > [ 1.0000000] 2024 > [ 1.0000000] The NetBSD Foundation, Inc.
