That is true, although at that level of API and data integrity you have several choices, like gdbm. The question is if somebody is using bsddb185 in Python, currently. If that is the case and that code can not use gdbm or similar (the API is basically identical), the right approach would be to provide "py27-bsddb185" as an independent package. There are precedents already. bsddb and gdbm are integral parts of Python 2.7 and they are segregated to external modules in pkgsrc. My opinion. In any case, I just the new noisy guy here. I respect the experience and "taste" of my olders :). -- Jesús Cea Avión _/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/_/ jcea%jcea.es@localhost - http://www.jcea.es/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ Twitter: @jcea _/_/ _/_/ _/_/_/_/_/ jabber / xmpp:jcea%jabber.org@localhost _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "Things are not so easy" _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "My name is Dump, Core Dump" _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/ _/_/ "El amor es poner tu felicidad en la felicidad de otro" - Leibniz
