That is your opinion and you are perfectly entitled to it. I have a
different opinion: software is just a product and software development
is not a religion requiring everyone's participation, despite what some
open source evangelists try to make it to be.

For any software that I develop, be it free or commercial, open or
closed source, I don't expect any gratitude or participation. It is my
responsibility to make sure software is designed correctly and free of
bugs. I try to accommodate users' requests and feature enhancements
as much as I can and I definitely do not expect software users to get
involved or start debugging or fixing anything.
