Hi Martin,

Yepp, that's it indeed. No matter if I compile it with static or dynamic linking, it just runs fine natively. I only get the problem -be it either compiled this or that way- when trying to get it work via qemu-i386. That's why I asked if anyone has tried ever getting some user space i386 stuff run on amd64 via qemu -and the question is still valid:)

P.S.: By the way, is it worth taking another turn in the pkgsrc mailing list in case of pkg related issues like this or most of them read anyway this list as well?

But the static binary just works when you run it natively? In that case
quemu is doing something wrong.
