Ok, I didn't use the install CD but I used the install kernel, which
should be the same thing (I've been doing this NetBSD stuff a while
now). Based on what Mr. Pedersen said above, I might conclude that the
install kernel is not setting up the disk properly to boot.

I did install OpenBSD for the heck of it and it does create an MS-DOS
partition called "i" (/dev/wd0i) and it has the ofwboot bootloader on
it. So you point the firmware at it, pass in the kernel (in their case
/bsd) and it goes. Very slick.

I'm guessing NetBSD should be able to do something similar? Maybe it's
too hard to generalize the boot process like that?

Anyway, I think I'm going to disklabel my disk using the netbooted OS
and install manually onto it and see what happens.

If I come up with something decent I'll try to make a writeup about
it. But I will try the install CD just to make sure it's not something
silly I missed.
