This seems to pop up repeatedly.  I thought it should have been in the
FAQ already.

I use this on my b&w g3.  I haven't tried FAT instead of ISO9660.  I
also used it on ppc mini and there I did try FAT and couldn't make it
to work (but ISO9660 does work).
