Well, I started a kernel build on my 4000/500A with NetBSD on local disk
and the kernel source on a NFS mount and it didn't get far before
another kernel panic (details below). The running kernel was compiled
from a daily build snapshot dated 200901080000Z with Havard's patch for
my qt card. The build machine for that compile was a Microvax 3100/95
also running 5.0_BETA. The build on the 3100/95 was successful so that
suggests that the panic is either something specific to the 4000/500
hardware or something introduced by compiling on the 3100/95. I guess
the next thing to try will be to boot the 3100/95 with a kernel compiled
on the 3100/95 and see if that works or not.
