i believe before this patch is commited (if it is) *every* driver
you have changed needs to be tested on a system that needed the
change for the device to work, or at least a very good attempt
has been made to find the device.  if you can't find users with
said devices, then i wouldn't hold back.

ie, this is just clean up, please make sure you haven't broken
things that have been working.

also, i don't think the churn for renaming is worthwhile.
