That write up is good.
I don't think what I proposed in any way contradicts with that.
What I wrote was the following:
- Firstly I proposed split packages with the coveted name `git' given to
the CLI only version.
- Somehow many people don't like it. So as a middle ground I proposed that
let git remain a meta package with options. A meta package works with
split packages anyway, so what I proposed in not contradicting with
splitting and is not going to take anything away from binary users.
Some other posts have sweeping statements about one (split) is in general
better than the other (options) - they don't make sense to me. Qualified
statements like in the manual are a lot better.
