Well the macos/aqua way is to just open another window, but of course
that's not going to be "tiled" -- you have to position and resize each
window individually yourself.

Apparently some people use emacs as a terminal emulator (I guess with
term-mode), and it of course supports tiled "windows" within each
"frame".  Despite being an ardent user of emacs myself I've never much
liked its terminal emulation support.
